Karla Lima, Graphic Designer
Karla Lima lives and works in New York City, USA. She holds Bachelor's degrees in Visual Communications and in Industrial Design from The Catholic University (PUC) of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. While at university, she joined the team of Soter Design, a small but renowned design studio in Rio de Janeiro, where she worked on projects in multiple disciplines for two years before leaving to continue her education in the United States.
In New York City, she studied at Pratt Institute and earned a Master's degree in Communication Design. During her studies, she worked as an intern at W Magazine. Later, she was invited to continue her career at Cookie Magazine prior to its launch which then went on to earn many editorial awards. After two years at Cookie she joined Interior Design Magazine where she currently holds the position of Senior Designer. While working in New York, Karla also earned a Postbaccalaureate Certificate in Business from Columbia University.
During her diverse career she has collaborated on a magazine from its start; worked on the redesign of a magazine; developed the brand for the South American Games; and worked for non-profits during her free time. Her work from Cookie Magazine and Interior Design Magazine has been published in the Society of Publication Design Annual.
